Quality Assurance from both OISESA (independent) and UMALUSI (Government)

UMALUSI

Unicorn Preparatory has received full accreditation from Umalusi, Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training, with accreditation number – 19 SCH01 00682, as from 15 May 2019.

We also received our 2021 Umalusi accreditation (full accreditation) on 1 December 2021, from an online evaluation completed in February 2021.

We also submitted our 2025 online evaluation in November 2025. We are still awaiting the outcome of this submission.

OISESA - the Office of Independent Schools Evaluations, Southern Africa 

This evaluation forms part of our ongoing commitment to excellence and accountability as an ISASA-affiliated school. In accordance with our agreement with ISASA, member schools are required to participate in a structured, independent evaluation process. ISASA has partnered with OISESA to facilitate these evaluations, ensuring that they are rigorous, objective, and aligned with recognised best practice in independent education.

The OISESA evaluation provides an external review of key aspects of school life, including governance, leadership, teaching and learning, learner wellbeing, and operational effectiveness. It is an important opportunity for reflection, validation, and continued growth, supporting our mission to provide the highest standards of education and care for our learners.

Further information about the evaluation process and timelines will be communicated to the school community in due course.

• Quality Assurance: Conducts rigorous evaluations of independent schools.

• Standards Alignment: Uses globally aligned standards for assessments, ensuring best practices.

• Self-Reflection: Guides schools through comprehensive self-studies, focusing on governance, leadership, teaching, and operations.

• Continuous Improvement: Promotes strategic thinking and adaptability for ongoing school enhancement. 

• In essence, OISESA acts as an independent body ensuring member schools of ISASA meet high-quality educational benchmarks through a structured evaluation process.
