Our cultural programme runs on a Wednesday afternoon and children in the Intersen Phase may choose from the following activities:
CHOIR
The Unicorn Preparatory School Choir gives pupils the opportunity to discover the joy of singing while developing confidence, teamwork and a love for music. Through rehearsals and performances, pupils learn to work together, build their skills and express themselves creatively.
The choir performs at school events and special occasions, giving pupils the chance to share their talents and experience the excitement of performing. It is a wonderful space for pupils to build friendships, grow in confidence and enjoy making music together.
DRAMA
We believe that every child should have the confidence to express themselves, share their ideas and discover their own unique voice. Our pupils are encouraged to take part in a range of opportunities, from assemblies and school productions to public speaking and other performance activities.
Our Foundation Phase and Intersen Phase each stage a production during the year, giving pupils the opportunity to perform in front of an audience, work as part of a team and experience the excitement of being on stage.
ART & CRAFT
Extra Art encourages pupils to experiment with different artistic techniques, mediums and styles. Through drawing, painting and other creative projects, children can develop their artistic abilities while expressing their individual ideas and imagination.
Extra Craft is a hands-on creative activity where pupils work with a variety of materials to make and design unique projects. From cutting and sticking to building, decorating and creating, pupils develop their fine motor skills, concentration and problem-solving abilities while having fun.
CHESS
The Unicorn Preparatory School Chess Club gives pupils the opportunity to develop their strategic thinking, concentration and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging environment. Through regular games and challenges, pupils learn to think ahead, make thoughtful decisions and learn from both victories and setbacks.
Chess also encourages patience, perseverance and good sportsmanship, while providing pupils with an enjoyable opportunity to challenge themselves and build friendships.
OUTREACH COMMITTEE
The Outreach Committee is proud to live out our school's value of Integrity by giving back to our community. Each term, we aim to complete at least one outreach project supporting a variety of causes and people, including the elderly, children with special needs, animals and families who are less fortunate.
We are grateful for every learner, parent and staff member who gets involved. We hope that through these small acts of kindness, our pupils learn the importance of caring for others, and the impact that even the smallest of gestures can make.
